Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of FocusPet ("the App"), a focus timer and virtual pet garden for iOS developed by Fatih Özen (the "Developer", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms of Service and these Terms. The App is licensed, not sold.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital consent age in your country) to use the App. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

3. In-App Purchases

  • The App offers optional in-app purchases (coin packs and one-time pet unlocks). All purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms.
  • In-app purchases are consumable (coin packs) or one-time unlocks (pet species). They are not subscriptions and do not auto-renew.
  • Virtual items (coins, pets, garden expansions) have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for real currency, and are non-refundable except where required by law (e.g. EU consumer rights). Refund requests are handled through Apple.
  • Prices may change. Past purchases are not affected by future price changes.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
  • Bypass, manipulate, or interfere with the focus timer, coin economy, or in-app purchase system.
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Apple's terms.
  • Distribute, sublicense, lease, or sell access to the App or your account data.

5. User content

The App does not host public user-generated content. Information you enter (such as session labels and pet names) is stored on your device and synced to your private cloud backup. It is not shared with other users.

6. Distraction blocking (Family Controls)

The App can optionally block apps you select during an active focus session using Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls + ManagedSettings). The selection and blocking state remain on your device. We do not see, store, or transmit which apps you choose to block. Blocking ends automatically when the session ends or is cancelled.

7. Availability and changes

We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time without prior notice. We aim to keep the App functional but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Cloud sync depends on Firebase availability and your network connection.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, that focus sessions will always complete, or that synced data will be preserved indefinitely. You are responsible for maintaining your device backups.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid for the App in the past twelve months.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when changes were made. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be highlighted in the App's release notes.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to conflict of law principles. Mandatory consumer protection rights granted by the law of your country of residence are not affected.
